Talent Development Squad

England women out to make big impression
The cream of England Women’s Rugby League will be aiming to make a big impression at Wakefield this month when Hearwell Stadium hosts a series of matches that will shape the make up of the national squad for a tour of New Zealand in the autumn.
The home of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats is the venue for the Women’s Super 4s competition on Sunday April 18 and 25 when the country’s best players come together in the hope of catching the eye of the selectors.
The competition will see two 13-a side games played on each day with the line-ups on April 25 determined by the form shown by players the previous week.
The RFL’s Head of Player Development, BJ Mather said: “The Super 4s competition is an important step in the talent development pathway for Women who want to aspire to represent their Country at the highest level possible.
“It is a unique format which sees club-mates playing against each other and which is always hugely competitive.”
“The intensity of competition can only be heightened by the possibility of a place on the tour to New Zealand in October this year.”
The competition is divided into four teams - Red, Green, Blue and Yellow - and a draw has already taken place to determine the first weekend’s fixtures.
Game One, Sunday April 18 (Kick-off 1.00pm): Red v Green
Game Two, Sunday April 18 (Kick-off 3.00pm): Blue v Yellow
Turnstiles open at 12.00 on both weekends and entry to the stadium is free of charge.
